Rich, creamy, and naturally nourishing — there's something special about a glass of real chocolate milk made from scratch. This version uses fresh egg yolks for extra silkiness and nutrition. You won't taste them, but you'll notice the luxurious texture. Perfect for a quiet afternoon or a wholesome treat on a hot summer day.
Just 6 simple ingredients. Store-bought chocolate milk is packed with a ton of odd additives — I use only these.
Ingredients
- 6 cups whole milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 4–6 tablespoons sugar * * we don't like it too sweet, so we use 4
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Method
- Combine all the ingredients in a large jar (at least 2 litres).
- Use a hand immersion blender to blend everything until smooth and well combined. Alternatively, add everything to a regular blender and blend on high for about 7 seconds.
Pour into glasses and enjoy ice-cold.
