Blackberry Popsicles

Blackberry popsicles on a wooden board with fresh berries

In summertime, when the blackberries start to ripen, we make everything out of them. The most delicious flavour is a perfectly ripened blackberry — juice bursting on your tongue, flavour enveloping your mouth.

The kids wanted popsicles, so that's what we made with them.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups blackberries
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • ¼ cup maple syrup * * optional

Instructions

  1. Add the blackberries, yogurt, and maple syrup (if using) to a blender. Blend until completely smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture through a large strainer set over a bowl to remove the seeds. Use a spoon or spatula to press the pulp through.
  3. Transfer the strained mixture into a large glass measuring cup for easy pouring.
  4. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze for 24 hours.
  5. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Yields approximately 6–8 popsicles, depending on the size of your molds.
  • For the brightest flavour, use fully ripe, juicy blackberries.
  • Plain or vanilla yogurt both work well. Greek yogurt will make a slightly thicker, creamier popsicle.
